November 30, 2010 - Socks Don't Go There!

We're still working daily on what is what and what goes where with Georgia. Gosh, being a wee one must be exhausting. I can't imagine not knowing what any of my body parts are called or where a "shoe" goes or in Georgia's most recent case, where a "sock" goes.

Apparently, she thinks a sock (in this case my sock) goes in her mouth.

And apparently, it is never supposed to leave her mouth... ever.

And it's a lot of fun to swing side to side like an elephant's trunk or something.

Don't let this innocent look fool you. If I could only begin to describe the tantrum when I finally had to take the sock from Georgia.

November 29, 2010 - Third Time's the Charm?

So "Finkleton I" and "Finkleton II" were short-lived on this earth. They quickly traveled to that golden fishbowl in the sky.

But I can be stubborn, and I am not giving up yet in my quest to get Georgia her "first" pet. Yeah, so were officially at #3, but I'm going to say if you don't survive the first week, you don't count in the pet count.

So here's Georgia first pet (#3).

Notice we finally went with the Betta. I am giving up on those delicate goldfish. Is everything getting more high-maintenance as the years pass? I don't remember goldfish being so delicate when I was a kid. I remember hardy, "I'll live in anything" goldfish. Go figure.

Here's to a long life, Finkleton III!

November 28, 2010 - What's Pink and Warm and Fuzzy on Top?

Georgia's head is, all because of her cute winter hat.

And the girl had to check out this "hat thing" for herself in the mirror. I could just hear her asking, "what the heck is this thing on my head?"

But she seems to think it's just as cute as I think it is! Of course, it's the model who makes it all cute. :)

I Heart Faces - Pet Faces

It has been a while since I've posted a picture to I Heart Faces, but when I saw this week's topic, I just couldn't stop from showing off one of my favorite pictures of Bailey. He and his tennis ball have a special connection, it's on some cosmic level, and it's one I'll never fully understand. But I know he is happiest when he has his tennis ball.

November 26, 2010 - Brrr... Baby It's Cold INSIDE!

When I opened up the fridge today, Georgia saw it as the perfect opportunity to see just what was inside that big white thing. Before I knew it, she was inside the refrigerator!

11.26.10 002

My silly little goose.

And what did she go for immediately?

11.26.10 004

To my husband's and my surprise, oddly not so much Georgia's, she somehow got the Reddi-Whip to dispense while the cap was still on! It filled the cap and then came shooting out. What a way to get a sweet treat.

Oh goodness, don't tell me we need to get a baby lock for the fridge now too!

November 25, 2010 - Turkey Day, Turkey Day!!

Ever since I was a child, I have had this addiction. It's not a bad addiction, actually a rather lean and healthy addiction. There are worse things to be addicted to. And how fabulous is it that there is a day that revolves, in part, around my addiction.

IT'S TURKEY DAY!!!

So of course a big turkey was in order for the day. And it's Georgia's first turkey. Yes, she was here last Thanksgiving, but I believe at just more than a month old, she slept right through it. So I was up at the crack of dawn this morning to get the turkey stuffed and in the oven. After all, I have an unforgiving job and must work today, so the meal must be on the table by noon.

As much work as it is, I actually love cooking the Thanksgiving meal. My mom taught me well and passed along her delightful cooking abilities to me. And I still make Thanksgiving almost exactly as she did. I'll admit, I don't make as many items because I'm not cooking for the army she always did. I hope one day I'll have a lot of family members to cook the meal for... I miss that from my childhood.

But more importantly, I CAN NOT WAIT until the day Georgia is old enough to help me in the kitchen on Thanksgiving. I will lovingly pass on my mother's recipes to her, just as my mother did to me. It will complete the circle. Circles should always be complete.

So this year, a small feast...
