July 11, 2010 - Play Ball!
It was a "take me out to the ballgame" kind of day today, so we couldn't resist. I love that Omaha has a minor league baseball team. The games are so much more fun and laid back than the majors, and a ticket doesn't cost you half a week's pay. The food still might though. Regardless, we showed up without tickets in hand and got our pick of the seats. Fun!
Oh, and did I mention this was Georgia's FIRST baseball game?!?! Heading there, I wondered what would be higher - the number of runs the Omaha Royals scored or the number of innings that Georgia's patience lasted through.
So we sat back and watched some baseball, we entertained Georgia, we traded toys we her as frequently as teams trade players, we nursed in the yucky bathroom and we ate Dippin Dots ice cream (which Georgia loved!).
And how long did she make it? Well, she had the Royals soundly beat. They only scored one run to Albuquerque's two. Georgia? She made it six innings before she discovered daddy's shoulder makes a darn good pillow.
I love, love, love the photo of them sitting in the seats in the background.
